I’ve also moved my blog to this platform and I’ve launched a waitlist for my upcoming online class, Basics of Vintage Photo Care.

Finally, I’ve also created a new FREE resource: Heirloom Cleaning and Inspection Schedule.

I’m constantly being asked the best way to clean an object. Sometimes it's books, or clothes, or furniture. If I’m not being asked how to clean something then I’m being asked how often something should be cleaned - silverware, brass, or antique rugs. Trust me, I get it. It can be intimidating if you are unsure how best to proceed with caring for your heirlooms. You want to make sure you are taking the best care of your items and not damaging them. After all, you want to be able to pass down this item for generations to come.

Well, it’s time to set those fears and worries aside. It’s time to let go of those anxieties because I’m giving you a great outline. This new guide covers everything from weekly to bi-annually tasks that will keep your heirlooms in tip top condition for years to come! The important thing is to not be overwhelmed.

Odds are you do not have everything in your collection that is covered here - so you can set those bits aside. And even though this schedule is based on best practices for preservation, it is ok if you can’t follow it thoroughly. We’re all human after all. Give yourself grace. The most important part is to create a repeatable schedule that you can commit to. A schedule that allows you to check the condition of your keepsakes on a regular basis.

Being able to check the condition of your heirlooms on a regular basis is the number one action that will help you to preserve them. It allows you to notice any unwanted changes quickly so you can take action and prevent possible catastrophes.

If you are checking your keepsakes on a routine basis then you notice things like changes in its color, a leaky pipe nearby, or a chair seat that is starting to sag. And because you noticed you can move the object further from the window light, you can get the leaky pipe fixed right away, and you can reinforce that chair bottom.

So if you’re ready to stop questioning when and how to clean your heirlooms then download this resource now!
